Piloting, Owning and Operating a Beech Bonanza A36 - www.gotoair.com

This is the story of owning and operating a 1993 Beech Bonanza A36 in the UK and some of its adventures and flights. I have owned this plane for over six years now.

Bonanza A36 to rescue a cat!

In the box is Amber. She is a four year old Siamese cat that belongs to my daughter. Three weeks ago she decided to go on her holidays in a truck that had parked near our home in Kendal and she made it as far as Felixstowe and then to a cats home in Ipswich.

Now for those of you that don't know, Ipswich is a giant drive from Kendal. Its one end of our glorious country to the other near as damn it (and if you exclude Scotland who don't like being part of our country anyway).

Anyway Amber was stuck in Ipswich and the cats home refused to send her in a cat courier because it would be "too stressful for her" so by the wonders of modern aviation and because we are fortunate enough to have G-FOZZ we set off today to collect her.  2.6 hours later she was back home.

So for only about £350 in fuel and expenses we saved ourselves a very, very long 600 mile (1000km) drive to get her back so I would say this was a success for the plane owning argument in our family, not that we have one of those :)

Amber is re-united with my daughter and I get a great day out flying.  Roll on Ambers next holiday!

P.S. While we were at it I also took our Beech Bonanza back to Multiflight for another fuel test as they are trying to work out what fuel pressures are correct for our new engine.
